Van Gogh Research

Authenticating a new painting or drawing by Vincent van Gogh requires considerable research. Because he painted in three different countries this research requires fluent knowledge of Dutch, French and English.

What is also required is having experienced art historians in the Netherlands and in France in particular.

If the newly discovered work was found in another country, it is generally necessary to pursue some provenance research where the artwork was found.

Our research resources include art historians in 12 different countries and allows us to perform documentary research or provenance research wherever necessary.

If you have reason to believe you may own an original van Gogh that has not yet been authenticated and certified, we invite you to talk to us and to explore what can be done.
